Tonight the Boatworks hosted the opening reception for The Great American Landscape, a juried photography exhibition. This makes two openings in a row where the building was packed- we estimate about 150 people coming through over the evening.
As the title indicates, the subject for this year's photo show is the American landscape. In this case, that means nature- no roads, cities, etc. Forty-four works were accepted, both black and white and color. This year's jurors were Ellen Martin, Director of Jersey Artist Registry, and Stacy Smith, Manager of Publications and Communications for the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers.
