Open Critique Sessions

A new opportunity at the Belmar Arts Council begins tonight- open critiquing sessions. All artists are invited to come and bring an artwork- can be something you recently finished, or even something in progress. You will have the opportunity to present your art to the group and receive constructive feedback from the other artists in attendance. Artists will present in order of arrival and signing in, so come early to make sure you get a spot in the lineup.

The sessions are held the 3rd Thursday of every month at the Boatworks, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. All kinds of original artwork, including photographs, are welcome. For more information, see the BAC website.

Opportunities for Artists

There's many opportunities for artists at the Boatworks. Here's a few to consider-

Figure Group- There's an open figure session with live model that meets twice a month on Wednesdays at the Boatworks. No instruction- just bring your materials and draw or paint from the model. The session runs from 7-9pm, and costs $10. There's one tonight, and to find out about future sessions, check the calendar page on our website.

Plein Air Group- We're planning a new group to start early next month, an outdoor painting group. Interested artists will meet at the Boatworks on May 2 at 1pm for the two hour session, which will set up in a nearby area yet to be determined. Check back here for more details when something more is announced.

Fourth Annual Juried Art Show

Our 4th Annual Juried Art Show was our biggest yet, and has been a huge success. It will be coming down on Sunday, but there are still a few chances to see it. The Gallery will be open to the public Friday April 4 from 6 to 8 pm, and Saturday April 5 from 2 to 6 pm.
